Riding can only be learned through riding and this can only be done on a horse. Anyone who wants to fully comprehend riding, however, has no option but to study the theory which supports it.

It is thus a further mission of the Anja Beran Foundation to produce a series of publications in order to shed more light on various theoretical aspects of equestrianism, to generate further thought about the philosophy and ethics behind it and to consider the art of equestrianism in its authentic historical and cultural context. For this purpose we shall be publishing texts at irregular intervals. These will be available to members of the foundation free of charge and can also be downloaded here in PDF form by interested readers against a small contribution to costs.
